Suicide Recovery

Thoughts, plans, and actions of suicide are perpetuated by isolation. Often, one of the hallmark signs that a person is close to suicide is that they shut themselves off to friends and family. It is in this time that reaching out for help is most beneficial, and also most difficult.

Despite what some people think, suicide is not a selfish act. More often than not, a person’s thought process is that they will save their loved ones pain if they were to be gone. It is an act meant to unburden those most loved.

If you are in this place, please know, you are not alone.

Suicide is a conversation that needs to be had. Too often, people skirt around the issue, afraid of what may come of it. Talking about suicide does not plant the idea in their head, nor does it encourage them to do it. It simply gives them an outlet for the pain; and when you are in a place of contemplating suicide, you NEED an outlet for your pain.

Darkness Falls Counseling can provide just that. Whether it is the beginning onset of thoughts of suicide, a recent suicide attempt, or you are looking to recover long-term from the attempt, I am here to help!

"Every storm is going to run out of pain. It's going to run out of sting. It's going to leave you alone. It's going to set you FREE."

- Gary Allan
